A dog bit me

While I was cycling to work this morning I saw a lady walking her black Labrador along the grass verge and as I went past, the dog ran out and bit me on the leg. As he did that, the lead got tangled round her legs and pulled her right over backwards so she fell heavily and bumped the back of her head on the road.

She was fine but shaken and she took me back to her house to clean my leg and to show me the vet vaccination record to prove to me that the dog does not have rabies! Actually, that's quite reassuring.

Hannah's morning music mahem

Posted via email from Jafferblog

Hannah is into music

So the old Jaffrey music genes seem to be doing their genetic thing. I got them from my Dad (and Mum is musical too) and now both my girls are really getting into music. Holly plays her trumpet almost every day, but Hannah is the one who is really exploring music at the moment.

She's spent the morning listening to U2 "All that you can't leave behind" and singing along from the lyrics on the sleeve notes.

Random Hannah musical musings (she's still just seven years old)...

Hannah, who are your favourite bands? "ummm, Abba and John Mayer"

"Dad, The Cranberries are such a bad band", said with a big cheeky smile.

Shocking!

To the rescue

We came home from a school event this afternoon to find our cat, Mole, stuck up a tree.

So I climbed fifteen feet up to the top of the ladder to get her. With a basket.

The cat's in the bag.

Safe and sound on the ground.

The climbing wall

Here's Holly testing it out for size. My brother in law, Mark, built most of it when he and my sister were staying with us last week. I finished it off this weekend. Just needs a bit of varnish for weather protection.
